Liangzhu Museum

Liangzhu Museum, its predecessor in 1994 by *** inscription of the name and opening of the Museum of Liangzhu Culture, is located in Yuhang District, Liangzhu Township, Beautiful Island Park, the new exhibition hall in March 2005 to start construction, officially opened to the public on 29 September 2008, is a Liangzhu culture thematic class of archaeological and cultural museums.

The museum covers an area of 40,000 square metres, a building area of 10,000 square metres, and an exhibition area of more than 4,000 square metres, within the three regular exhibition halls, temporary exhibition halls, as well as cultural relics, special storage and recreational space open to the public and other functional blocks. Liangzhu Museum building, ‘a jade cone scattered on the ground’ as the design concept, not completely parallel to the composition of the four-long building, known as the ‘collection of treasures in the box’. The whole building highlights the characteristics of simplicity, ruggedness, heaviness and atmosphere, focusing on the combination of landscape and nature, in the landscape of mountains and water, wild grasses and bleak, placed between the blue sky and white clouds, let people strongly feel a kind of harmony and integration of art and nature, history and modernity. The outer walls of the building are all made of yellow cave stone, which looks like jade from afar. Inside the courtyard, there are three themed patio courtyards, using elements of Chinese garden architecture and embellished with architectural sketches such as the Beauty Leaner.
